Here are a few of the many websites I’ve helped build during my time at the NYU Health Sciences Library, Your Plan B Company, and freelance work. Download samples of work here.
The NYU Health Sciences Library recently went underwent an entire overhaul of its website to provide better access to services to users as well as align the Library’s branding with that of NYU and the Medical Center. (View the old site here.)
I worked as the co-lead of the Web Services group to develop the redesigned NYU Health Sciences Library website. Tasks included developing a site map, wireframes, UX testing, logo/identity symbol design, branding compliance, look and feels, and quality assurance.
Both the chat and ticketing systems will be replaced in the next phase with an entirely new Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM). A theme was created using responsive web design techniques to allow all users to access the same content via the website no matter the device they are using.
A site map was determined for the structure of the future website. Then wireframes, rapid prototyping, logo design, color palette matching, and look and feels were developed to determine the functionality and look of the site. UX testing and development was done with the Web Services team of which I co-chair to better streamline accessibility.
Phase 2 of the Archives website includes use of Islandora: an open source framework that combines the searching power of Solr within the content management of Drupal, done with the help of Discovery Garden (https://discoverygarden.ca/). Islandora allows for data description and discovery within a repository. This will make search retrieval of archival digital materials result in more exact results.
Great Chicago Stories was created with the intention of providing instructional materials for high school and elementary school stories. You can read more about this project on Your Plan B Company’s portfolio page.
In 2006 it had been 150 years after the birth of the architect, Louis Sullivan. This site aimed to showcase his architecture and promote a series of events happening in the Chicago area. You can read more about this project on Your Plan B Company’s portfolio page.
